A dupla sueca Club 8 veio ao Brasil em 2008 e se inspirou bastante nos ritmos percusivos brasileiros, principalmente do Nordeste e nas guitarradas do Norte, para gravar seu novo e sétimo álbum, intitulado The People’s Record, com lançamento oficial para hoje, além de resquícios de ritmos africanos e cubanos, tudo temperado com as doces melodias do duo. A primeira pepita a ser liberada é a sensacional “Western Hospitality”.

Club 8 has travelled to Brazil for inspiration, bought records made in the '70s in Western Africa, used a percussion player from Cuba and hooked up with producer Jari Haapalainen (The Concretes, Camera Obscura, Ed Harcourt). The result is a unique mix of Swedish pop melodies and African rhythms - undoubtedly one of the most unique, captivating and catchiest pop records of the year!
