Thom Yorke - "All For The Best" [mp3]

Mark Mulcahy foi o líder da Miracle Legion, banda americana de New Haven, Connecticut, região de New England, que fazia um som baseado no pós-punk, que ficou ativa entre os anos 80 até meados dos 90. Depois fundou a Polaris para fazer a trillha do seriado de comédia infanto-juvenil The Adventures of Pete & Pete, no ar entre 1993 e 1996. Em seguida, deu início à sua carreira solo. Infelizmente, os projetos de Mulcahy não ficaram muito conhecidos mas, foram bem citados por grandes estrelas de gerações posteriores, tanto que abriu para muitos artistas notáveis, incluindo Oasis e Jeff Buckley, e recebeu homenagem de Thom Yorke (Radiohead), que dedicou uma canção para Mulcahy num show em Boston.

Ciao My Shining Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy é um tributo ao cantor/compositor, previsto para ser lançado em 29 de setembro de 2009, com contribuições de grandes artistas como Thom Yorke, The National, Dinosaur Jr., Michael Stipe, Juliana Hatfield, Mercury Rev, Frank Black, bem como muitos outros. Mais do que ser um tributo, o álbum também servirá como um benefício para Mulcahy cuja mulher morreu recentemente, deixando tri-gêmeas recém-nascidas.

Aqui temos a primeira faixa a circular na blogosfera, trata-se da que abre o álbum, "All For The Best", e que originalmente vem de Surprise Surprise Surprise, álbum de 1987 do Miracle Legion, num arranjo de pinceladas electro de Thom York que, no mínimo, impressiona.
