Babe, Terror é o projeto de pop noise do jornalista paulistano Cláudio Szynkier. Meses antes do lançamento físico, previsto para o fim do mês de maio que passou, Weekend, seu álbum de estreia, já era notícia. No ano passado, Cláudio enviou um EP para os principais veículos internacionais de música, como Uncut, Pitchfork e Guardian (o que rendeu uma coluna assinada pelo notório Alan McGee). Em 24 de março deste ano, disponibilizou o primeiro álbum para download em seu selo-blog, chamado Perdizes Dream, e foi acolhido pela plataforma Musificando, do MySpace. Musicalmente, o álbum é desafiador e cerebral. São diversas camadas de vozes, orquestradas como um coral experimental, sobrepostas e moduladas por meio de pedaleiras eletrônicas e analógicas. Os efeitos de drone (em que a nota vai ecoando gradativamente) e looping (repetição) sugerem uma aproximação ao pós-rock, mas sua construção é um tanto mais rítmica, relembrando o hip-hop. O álbum transmite uma atmosfera letárgica e ao mesmo tempo colorida – o que rendeu muitas associações à Tropicália –, mas no fundo constitui um interessante exercício de construção, já que as músicas só ganharam corpo no programa de edição do PC.
