Enter The Vaselines

The Vaselines, banda desde muito tempo comemorada por músicos e entusiastas de todos os gêneros e em todo o globo, incluindo o super-fã Kurt Cobain, que inclusive coverizou "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" com o Nirvana em seu Unplugged. A Sub Pop lançará no dia 5 de maio próximo o álbum Enter The Vaselines, uma oportunidade para aqueles já familiarizados com a curta carreira da banda escocesa para ir mais fundo em seu trabalho, quanto para aqueles que desejam conhecer esta banda lendária. Esta nova coleção é efetivamente uma edição de luxo da compilação lançada em 1992 pela Sub Pop The Way of The Vaselines, com um novo título e uma nova arte de capa (acima), e uma série de material novo, totalizando 17 faixas extras no segundo CD/terceiro LP, originalmente re-masterizado a partir de uma fita cassete. The Way of The Vaselines foi compilado de todo material da banda lançado oficialmente, dois EPs, Son of a Gun e Dying for It, e seu único LP lançado, Dum-Dum. Enter The Vaselines é a definitiva coleção dos Vaselines, nos formatos CD duplo e LP triplo. Inclui novas versões re-masterizadas de todo o material lançado oficialmente, mais demos nunca antes ouvidas e gravações ao vivo entre 1986 e 1988, em Bristol e em Londres.

The Vaselines have long been celebrated by musicians and music enthusiasts across genres and across the globe, including super-fan Kurt Cobain. Sub Pop’s May 5 release of Enter The Vaselines is an opportunity for those already familiar with the Scottish band’s brief career to delve deeper into their body of work, while those new to their music can experience firsthand why so many hold them in such high regard. This new collection is effectively a deluxe-edition reissue of the 1992 Sub Pop release The Way of The Vaselines with a new title and new cover art from the band, and a whole lot of new material (the entirety of the 17-song second CD/third LP has been added). Originally mastered from a cassette tape, The Way of The Vaselines compiled the band’s two EPs (Son of a Gun and Dying for It) and their sole LP release (Dum-Dum). Enter The Vaselines is the definitive triple LP/double CD Vaselines collection. It includes new mixes and re-mastered versions of everything by The Vaselines, plus never-before-heard demos, and live recordings from 1986 in Bristol and 1988 in London.
